Yesterday I had a great convo with @mickeyhardy that crystallized something for me: LLMs are incredible average-generating machines. That's part of what makes them useful. They compress the internet, surface the consensus, and give everyone a baseline level of intelligence on demand. As more people outsource more of their thinking to the same systems, the advantage shifts. The edge moves toward people who spend time in rooms with original thinkers, weird builders, deep operators, and non-consensus perspectives. People who can tell when the model is giving them the obvious answer. People with enough taste to know what is worth paying attention to. People who have real conversations before the internet flattens every idea into content. IRL community gets more valuable in the AI era. The scarce thing becomes better questions, better taste, and better rooms.
