Claude Verret led QMJHL in scoring in 1981-82 (54g, 108a). Among his accolades, QMJHL offensive rookie of the year, 80-81, most sportsmanlike player, 80-81, 81-82. 1983-84 #AHL rookie of the year with @AmerksHockey. Verret played 14 #NHL games for #Sabrehood, (2g, 5a). Verret was 61. RIP

Waddell reiterated the Hurricanes will have full control of hockey operations with AHL Chicago. He said AGM Darren Yorke is heading up the coaching search, and Waddell and Brind’Amour will be more involved once the candidate pool is smaller.
