@FplAndSte Yeah I know sat 17:30 is the usual but sometimes they have “super saturday” from memory with an extra game. Might be completely making that up. Don’t trains run later on Saturday nights? So whilst it might not be ideal (although they manage to do it midweek!!) it is possible

@FPL_Teddy No mate I think Saturday is 17:30. Again still kinda late for traveling fans but manageable. I agree on everything being televised for the price the big companies charge though.

Change all PL kick off times to anything but Saturday 3pm and televise all Fri 7:45pm Sat 12:30pm Sat 17:30pm Sat 8pm Sun 12pm Sun 2pm Sun 4:30pm Mon 8pm Take your pick. No need for Saturday 3pm games in the PL. These KO times all happen already and work well

@chrisirwin5 @FPL_Sav Ok match going fans put in more effort. No one can argue that. But If clubs receive more money from TV they can afford to drop ticket prices Non-match going fans bring in MUCH more money to the clubs (more people watching on tv = bigger tv contracts = more tv money for clubs)

@FPL_Teddy @FPL_Sav Your points above are exactly why what’s best for Supporters who go to games should be prioritised above fans who watch @ home. They pay the money, travel away, setting off really early or getting back really late whereas you can just turn the telly off & get on with your day

@FplGazman Crowds obviously do matter. But for the last god knows how many years, we have seen games played at times other than 3pm Saturday and they’re still packed to the rafters Crowds will not disappear. They will hardly be affected in the short term. Long term it will be the new norm

@FPL_Teddy Without the profit from match days, clubs wouldn’t survive. Shall they just pump in fake noise like during Covid? It would be great for people to be able to watch more games on tv if they can’t make it to the stadium, but it’s very naive to think that crowds don’t matter

@FPL_Dalton @FplGazman But I don’t enjoy the blackout. Lower league football is of no interest to me. Getting a season ticket is of no interest to me (money, time, effort) And I am not alone “Proper” fans… grow up

@FPL_Dalton Also factor in a max of 2-3k can attend most away games. Majority of usual match going fans miss out on watching their team

@FPL_Dalton There are many more TV fans of each PL team than there is match going fans. Not everyone can get a season ticket or attend the amount of games they may want to. Not to mention fans not in the area. Games at these times have been going ahead for years without (major) issue

I know it protects lower leagues too which is important. Just think there’s surely a better way than having 3 providers and access to 50% of games. Last night 1 of 4 games were on TV with no lower league games on

I know it supposedly protects match attendance but I’ll always think it’s a joke in England you can’t watch half the PL games on TV. Should all be one provider too, not fragmented into 3. Other countries have one provider and access to all games 🤷‍♂️
