Year 1 met real life superheroes. We had a visit from Sergeant Rooney 👮🏼‍♂️and police dog Baloo 🐕, we went to Braintree fire station 🚒 and Farmer Matthews brought a tractor to school 🚜 #felstedinspires bringing our learning to life

Our Harvest celebration was a joy for all 🌾Beautiful singing 🎶 Thoughtful reflections 🙏🏼 and a visit from @guidedogs trainers Sarah & Rick with puppies Warby 🦮& Charlie 🦮. Thank you to our Felsted families for the generous donations to Braintree Foodbank #felsteddifference

Our Reception classes had a wonderful time pretending to be different jobs in our community, thanks to Little City Braintree 📩 🩺🛒🛠️. Through role play, the children developed their imagination and language skills by immersing themselves in a variety of roles #felstedinspires

Did you see Year 1 following clues as they begun to find out ‘What makes a superhero?’ 🦹🏻🦸🏽‍♀️🦹🏾‍♀️🦸🏼‍♂️ The children dressed up as all sorts of different superheroes to launch their autumn term topic …now they will start to find out all about real life superheroes ⚡️#felstedinspires

Week 2 and we have launched our topics for this term. Year 2 began to research their question ‘Why do we have zoos?’ with a day at @ColchesterZoo focussing on animals from Africa 🌍 This first hand experience will support reading and writing back at school, 📝 . #felstedcreative

First day back and we’re loving our new adventure trail play equipment from @PentagonPlayUK 🤸🏽🤸🏽‍♀️🤸🏿 and construction blocks from @community_play 🧱making playtimes #felstedfun 🩵

We say “Au revoir” to Mrs Fincher after her years teaching Year 1, as she moves on to being Head of Drama at the Prep School 🎭 and “Farewell” to Miss Weller as she moves to teach Reception in Dubai ✈️. Thank you for your hard work, dedication and kindness 🥰We will miss you 💖

Year 2 invited families to join them at our forest for an ‘End of Phase’ celebration 🌿 We don’t know who had more fun…children or parents 💚 #felstedfamily

On Friday we held our annual charity fete for @guidedogs 🐾. Families took part in fun activities and we were joined by local puppy trainers Sara, Christine, Peter with Guide Dog Micky, Vanessa, Malcolm and puppy Dory 💙 Best of all, we raised £2700! #felsteddifference

As we begin to draw to the end of this academic year, we prepare for the next! This week we held information meetings for YR, Y1 and Y2 to share the exciting topics and learning opportunities planned for each year group, with parents 👨🏾‍🤝‍👨🏼👩🏻‍🤝‍👩🏿👩🏼‍🤝‍👨🏽 #felstedfamily

Today, guide dog puppy trainer Sara came to school with 17 week old Granger 🐾 We learnt all about her job as a @guidedogs puppy trainer 🦮 and how this amazing charity supports visually impaired people. Sara will be joining us at our fete next Friday 🎪🎡🎠 #felsteddifference
