I spoke to my source and they sent me this press release from the parent company Informa, detailing that T&F data will be used to train Microsoft AIs. For this they receive an initial payment of $10m+ plus additional yearly fees 6/ informa.com/globalassets/d…

This is disturbing and an increasingly important issue for academics. ALCS (who collect authors' fees, a great service - do sign up) is currently conducting a survey on this.
