No wonder the bend before 2 out on the Chase course was riding tight, virtually a 90 degree turn. Surely the rails should cut the corner more to allow a much smoother turn?

Extremely sad postscript to see Envoi Allan collapse after the Gold Cup. A legend in every single way. He lit up Cheltenham on so many occasions. So very sorry to his connections 😔

The Albert Bartlett field was increased from 20 to 22 this year - if it had still been 20 Johnny's Jury wouldn't have got a run (he was balloted out of the Turners).

Cant have been an easy decision but Cheltenham have watered 3-5mm with plenty of rain forecast
Seems as if much of today's card will be run before that rain falls but we've seen how deep 'rain-on-watered' ground can get (Day 2 of 2022) so be careful re when you place Friday bets
