Can’t say I ever had “present at a plant bar” on my bingo card. Thank you to the Foxglove Cafe for providing a venue for the Science Cafe tonight. Been such a great week with the @PlantCenterUGA folx! We need a place like this in Vancouver stat!

“Management of those invasive species that are able to dominate communities may not need further evidence to justify control: the invasion and displacement of native vegetation is the ecological disaster.” Bern Blossey

@evecologist YES!!! Forest Service Ecologists sometimes use historical range of variability to inform a "desired future condition", but if the presence of invasive species is ignored, the desired future condition will be unattainable.

Early Detection & Rapid Response (EDRR) is a management approach that focuses on finding and removing invasive species before they cause harm. These species are treated differently because they spread quickly or change the composition of an ecosystem. #NISAW #InvasiveSpecies
