@Discord_Lies The irony of having "contested" land is hilarious to me
English

@mojoatelier @FiredUpCoug I stood outside in the dark every morning waiting for the bus.
English

It was finally schools that were instrumental in ending this in 1974… in west coast winter it was so hard to get up in the morning… convince the kid it wasn’t still the middle of the night…they even tried split sessions and start school later but that messed up the afternoons… kids didn’t feel fully awake until 10:00 at their nutrition break… I guess people have forgotten.
English

@WillLewis_1976 @vancemeek I did every year growing up. Basically pitch black out there every morning in December
English

@vancemeek Imagine being a kid having to walk to and wait for the school bus in the dark, in the middle of December.

daylight at 4:30 AM is infinitely worse than daylight at 9AM
Katy Morgan@katymorganwx
Hold up.. now there's a *NEW* bill that has introduced: the "Sunshine for our Kids Act of 2026" which would make *Standard* time permanent For Nashville: Earliest sunrise in early June at 4:29 am (!!) Latest sunset in late June at 7:08 pm Losing one hour of evening daylight
English

@WiscoGrant @trustinhorst I did it, every year til I got my license
English

@trustinhorst try sending kids to school in the pitch black in the winter when it's below zero- which will happen if this passes
English

@ilyasleftnipple I remember waiting for the bus in the dead of winter basically pitch black trying to use a binder as a snowboard

Kids in northern states are ALREADY GOING TO SCHOOL IN THE DARK. I WENT TO SCHOOL IN THE DARK ALL WINTER GROWING UP
Peter St Onge, Ph.D.@profstonge
Permanent DST passed the House but is DOA in the Senate because Southern states want more afternoon light but Northern states don't want kids to go to school in the dark. So my modest proposal: permanent DST but midwest and northeast shift one zone West. Everybody gets exactly what they want 🙌
English

@TG_10001 @AJTrueSon No matter what there’s no light that early btw
English

@AJTrueSon Super early? By 9:00 am I’ve already been up for 4 hours.
English

@Celan_G @AJTrueSon How about driving home tired from work in dark icy conditions?
English

@AJTrueSon Going to work. When you're driving in icy conditions, darkness is bad. Get your ass out of bed.
English

@Shocklinggg @rickjeff78 “OK kids you’ve had your 2 hours come inside now!”
English

@FTBJester @rickjeff78 I agree but don't kids get out of school at like 2:30?
English

@ChemPhysMajor @oakwood64989 @collinsworth55 You do know there is a spike in heart attacks by up to 24% when we spring ahead every year right?
English

@oakwood64989 @collinsworth55 Please describe exactly what features of the critical safety concerns which were real and resulted in harm and death to children waiting for buses in full dark have changed since then.
I'll wait. None have.
English

@alwaysrealracin Mind you this is the guy who told Hocevar he was bad for the sport
English

You made it to Friday, you know what that means? #cutoffyourpenisandlightinonfirechallenge
English

@cnnr333 Why you think they were giving it to housewives? They’d wipe the stove for an hour and then put anything you can imagine in jello
English

im crying uncs airbag deployed 😭
glocc@lilglocc1k
bro is NEVER coming to the 4th of July party again
English

@bopit_with_legs @crazyshovellady Most bars if you order a beer it comes in a 16oz pint glass. Some will ask if you want a "tall" and it comes in a 22-24oz glass. Tall boys are 24oz cans btw.
English

@crazyshovellady So in the US (in the eyes of the government) a tallboy is ~1 1/2 but everywhere else it’s just 1
English

@noahdonotcare Left this one in the oven a little long
