Angelina Jolie visited Samlaot High School in Battambang today, according to Cambodia’s Ministry of Education. The visit focused on student progress and conditions at the school’s boarding facilities. Jolie has deep ties to Cambodia going back more than two decades. She adopted her son Maddox from Battambang province in 2002, holds Cambodian citizenship, and directed “First They Killed My Father,” a film about the Khmer Rouge era. She’s maintained a conservation foundation in the country and visits regularly.

On April 1, 2026 Hollywood actress Angelina Jolie has arrived in Cambodia and stopped at Samlot High School in Battambang Province.
