@TeamYouTube With switching to a brand account? or any other gotchas? I have seen that you lose all comments. Will it break external links, and references? I just don't see a lot of good documentation on it and nobody at YouTube to talk to about it.

@TeamYouTube The channel is currently a standard channel, not a brand channel. Is your suggestion to convert it to a brand channel and then I can change the ownership on it? It probably should be a brand channel, but I was worried about making the switch. Is there any interruption or issues..

@TeamYouTube I recently had an issue with my Google account that manages my YT channel. It ended up changing my primary account info and switching the owner on me. There is no way to change it, and I can't talk to anyone @ Youtube. Working with the Google team, need help from YT

Also this seems like a security problem, because my account is essentially taken over by a different account.

I am having an absolutely miserable time dealing with Google support. I am now 1 week into this and my account is still screwed up. I just got a note from them at 3 am and they didn’t seem to know what my issue is. I have been through escalation managers, etc.
