Sunderland-based Franks Portlock Consulting has secured a six-figure investment from NPIF II – FW Capital Debt Finance, managed by FW Capital as part of the Northern Powerhouse Investment Fund II, to support its next phase of growth. The funding has enabled the business to relocate its headquarters within Hylton Park to a larger 5,720 sq ft facility, completing a £220k project that includes modern office space, meeting rooms, training facilities, collaborative areas and upgraded laboratory capabilities. We’ve provided a six figure investment to Allerton Steel, enabling them to acquire a new ESAB submerged arc boom welder. This upgrade boosts production capacity, supports delivery of its HS2 contract, and strengthens the company’s ability to win larger infrastructure projects. Allerton Steel operates from a 50,000 sq. ft facility, employing 94 staff and delivering high quality structural and mechanical fabrication since 2009. The new boom welder can handle girders over 3 metres tall, offering the precision required for major industrial work. We are marking the full realisation of the Tees Valley Catalyst Fund, which delivered £26m in bond finance to 29 North East businesses. This support helped secure almost £330m in contracts, creating 588 jobs and safeguarding 1,322 more. Backed by the Tees Valley Combined Authority, the fund provided short term loans for performance bonds, warranties and contract delivery across sectors including manufacturing and construction, benefitting firms such as Wilton Engineering and Hambleton Steel. Don’t forget, we continue to offer short term bond support loans through the Teesside Flexible Investment Fund.
