On Monday, March 23, 2026, the Coordinating Council for Workforce Development (CCWD) welcomed three employer panelists who shared the importance of building meaningful relationships to develop strong workforce pipeline programs. They also highlighted best practices for employers of any size or industry wanting to offer internships. Prior to the employer panel, CCWD members collaborated to identify ways to enhance internship opportunities within their organizations and streamline employment-based learning processes across the state. Through breakout discussions, CCWD members discussed strategies to retain talent in South Carolina by providing high-quality experiences and mentorship to students and identifying solutions to overcome barriers. As collaboration is the nuclear engine of the CCWD, the meeting closed with the Council's committees raising awareness of shared projects and aligning objectives to build skills and overcome obstacles for education and workforce development.
