Jon Davison from YES joins me on the Now Spinning Magazine Podcast to discuss performing the legendary album Fragile live, stepping into the role once held by Jon Anderson, and why YES continue to push progressive rock forward. Jon reflects on discovering YES as a teenager through “Owner of a Lonely Heart”, exploring the band’s earlier music, and the surreal experience of singing songs like “Roundabout” on stage with the band he grew up admiring. We also talk about the future of YES, their upcoming studio album, and why progressive rock should always challenge both musicians and listeners. Topics include: Performing the album Fragile live The legacy of YES and Jon Anderson Writing and performing new YES material Steve Howe’s leadership in the band Why progressive rock should always evolve 🎵 Remember — music is the healer and the doctor. youtu.be/97yyi6Uo75c

Geoff Downes: Asia Reignited, Yes “Fragile” Revisited, and Keeping the Fire Burning There are musicians who slow down with age… and then there’s Geoff Downes. In this episode of the Now Spinning Magazine Podcast, I’m joined by a man whose musical fingerprints are all over our record collections — songwriter, producer, keyboard maestro and a key part of two monumental legacies: Asia and Yes. Fresh back from Japan with Asia, Geoff has been revisiting the legendary Asia in Asia era — performing the exact same 1983 setlist, while simultaneously preparing to hit the road in the UK with Yes, performing 1971’s Fragile in its entirety. And as if that wasn’t enough, he’s also working on the Icon retrospective release “Lexicon”, celebrating his long-standing creative partnership with the late, great John Wetton. What follows is a conversation about momentum, memory, emotion — and the privilege of still making music at the highest level. Now Spinning Magazine youtu.be/4_wOx-_1zhU

From Arne Røv -- a flyer promoting YES at Club 7 in Oslo, Norway on February 22, 1970. Arne even got autographs from all five of the guys (from left to right on the flyer: Peter Banks, Bill Bruford, Jon Anderson, Chris Squire, Tony Kaye).
