Happy Monday! It’s gonna be a pretty stormy week of weather here in Central Texas and the Austin-area. The first widespread round of rain and storms will be Tuesday evening into Tuesday night. There is a level 2 of 5 severe storm risk for Austin and the Hill Country with hail and strong winds being the main threats. After this round, I expect multiple more opportunities for heavy rain and storms through the rest of the week.

UPDATE: Authorities have issued a shelter in place for a large swath of South Austin as they search for a shooter or shooters responsible for four injuries.

BREAKING: Austin police are urgently searching for an active shooter who has carried out up to *nine* seemingly random attacks in recent hours, injuring as many as 4, according to preliminary information. Here is a photo of suspect:

A widespread line or complex of storms will move through later this evening with the potential for powerful winds up to 75 mph, hail up to 2” in diameter, and an isolated tornado. Make sure you have a way to get alerts this evening. General arrival time is ~7 to 8 PM in the Hill Country. ~9 or 10 PM in the Austin metro. After 10 PM in the coastal plains.
