@BSAT_Properties I beg to differ. If this is the receipt issued, then it is legitimate. It has all the ingredients of a receipt on a land bought in 1988. What will make the land yours is it being registered by the Lands commission in your name. Land issues don't recognise receipt paid in 1830 or?

I went to collect family receipt for my land yesterday and i was shock with what happened Atanda, the Land i bought for six Million Naira, this people wrote one thousand naira on the recept and backdated the date to 1998 I rejected it and left with anger, pls what can i do on this one Is this not deceit? Atanda: In yoruba Land That's the practice, i don't know if it's same practice in igbo land and other regions So far you have evidence of your bank transfer, you have nothing to worry about What you should worry about mostly, is taking legal possession of the Land The price do on the Family receipt doesn't not really have any effect You should be more concerned about getting your deed ready and ask them to sign on it That is the legal way the ownership of that land can be transferred to you Legally and not through the receipt you are worried about. And make sure the deed is registered at the Land Registry to perfect it and let the Government know that you are the one occupying that Legally henceforth and they will stamp it for you. Long read.. year 2000 saw the biggest crisis and bloodshed owo, ondo state had ever witnessed. A fight between palace boys and OPC boys, houses and cars were burnt, hundreds died and many suffered fatal injuries. My dad was in AD at the time(the ruling party in the state)
