@thegoblincity I think that has to do with some level of emotional intelligence. There is also the “I can fix them” mentality. Usually the sweetest people get into situations that take advantage of that kindness. The appeal is having someone you expect to do so, breaking the mold.

I've been in fandom spaces for about 16 years and... a weird recurring situation is... fans of characters who are considered evil/assholes being generally more level-headed and peaceful than fans of nice/lovable characters, who often behave aggressively. In every fandom.

@Snartles It’s incredibly tough. What I do is set a timer. Once it’s up I have to do a self care activity, play a game, take a hot bath, read a book or anything you find relaxing. Keep your phone away if you can. Having that structure is important and can help a ton!
