The fact that being x-2 already denies all your chances of making top 8 is really discouraging people towards playing day 2, DLCs used to give you Prize Wall tickets just for making it into day 2 which I believe was a complete success of an idea

With all the noise around bans in Riftbound, I’ll just say this: banning Call Shot doesn’t really fix the meta. Sure, it helps reduce those long games that drag into late turns… but if the definition of what counts as “combat” isn’t fixed, then nothing fundamental has been solved. #riftbound

I’m not on Retreats because the list is built around the base Ferrous units, and we actually want them to die since they trade resources while we set up a 6-power board. The rest of the list is meant to keep pressure on base and push damage, not to bounce our units back to hand. Into Draven, for example, we try to avoid playing on their turn altogether so we don’t give them those combats that let them draw. Against Irelia, we need to be fast early and then hold a board. Viktor/Ezreal/Azir and similar matchups are already pretty favorable, so Retreats don’t feel necessary. It’s also a list built more to surprise people than something you’d want to play every day at locals. That said, I personally do like Retreats — just not in this specific build.
