@FakeMattOReilly This is fair criticism of my original post. Pitch sequencing changes with a runner on second, etc. You're right; can't assume. Although generally, a runner on second is better than first, and running that out would have been nice

Austin Hays hurt himself chasing a bloop single down the line. Hays pulled up limping after running, and that allowed Adley Rutschman to score all the way from first to give the Orioles a 1-0 lead in the fourth. Very close to the line, but it's an RBI single for O'Neill

Tyler O'Neill thought this ball would be foul. He took a few steps toward first and even turned back to the plate before running. Wind may have pushed it back fair, but if O'Neill had gotten to second there, he would've scored when Ryan Mountcastle singled

Immediate thoughts of the Orioles' trade for Blaze Alexander: - While adding a big bat (Pete Alonso) and a frontline starter (∄) were top priorities, adding a utilityman to replace Ramón Urías was also important for a bench that lacked versatility and defensive prowess. - Alexander is a nice player and has four years of team control. Guys who can play six positions (most at a high level) with plus speed and a good arm don't grow on trees. Main issue is Alexander doesn't have any minor league options. - The Orioles were vulnerable at 3B in case of a Jordan Westburg injury. Alexander fills that gap. - Kade Strowd had a nice rookie season and getting rid of a young reliever with options is a risk. But he never dominated the minors and he mostly pitched in low leverage last season. - A bullpen with many question marks just got a tad thinner. Removing Strowd could make it more likely that Rico Garcia make the team this spring.
