Excited our (@MatthewHalley & Stacy Pirro) 237 species hawk phylogeny is out. With a mix of Whole Genome Sequencing and legacy data we split Accipiter into several genera and determine the placement of several weird hawks (I also drew a ton of birds!) academic.oup.com/biolinnean/art…

@grizzlygirl87 Last week I got a hard plastic snap-on cover for my laptop to overcome this issue. When laptop dies I'll remove cover and hang it on the wall (like an old license plate). I'd post a pic but I haven't vanquished the next round of anxiety- where does each sticker go on the cover

Terrace progress. Just need more limestone (UK is running low of course) and a maybe a fake Venus de Milo statute to peer armlessly and crassly over the #PeakDistrict 👀.
Oh and maybe @Falconidae07’s American-garage-tool-supply to avoid using the back of an axe as a post knocker 😂

@emily_ostrow @JasonWeckstein @JMBFMNH @AlexandreAlei20 I was amused Twitter suggested I read the article before retweeting. Great job Emily!

🧵Back from our Hants atlasing 💚
Massive thanks @Falconidae07 for flying over from University of Texas, @sarsdell for coming down from Oxford, and especially Joost Brandsma for all the local contacts and knowledge, New Forest National Park, Martin Down Nature, and the Keyhaven locals for procuring, um, keys.
No Turtle Doves but otherwise really successful. The NFNP is a stark reminder that the UK can manage complex forest mosaic ecology if it actually wanted to.
Now to go through all the data…
A few pics for amusement. We had a great house which was very much a field site in terms of food and sleep not taking priority ;)

Should be a prize for the longest distance traveled for #LondonSeries. Flying from #Alaska would put me in the running. Glad my #Yankees pulled it off

Basically like the Olympics. Also came in 2nd in non-student quiz bowl. Lots of winning (and science) at #AOSSCO17 with @drew_sweet21 twitter.com/AOS_SCO_2017/s…
