A lil’ tip for my Fasnacht Friends, that are newly treking up the mountain to Helvetia in Feb. Hunt down that warm coat, hat, clothes & shoes. Thrift stores & borrowing are great options. It’s usually pretty cold. Last minute can get costly, so best prep early. 😉❄️⛰️

Because a lot of news is coming your way this week on the community created, community run @pioneerfallout! Tickets go live 1/19! FIRSTLY... When it comes to breakfast May 2nd and 3rd, if you're staying at the Days Inn, breakfast is served complimentary daily. So what's a Wastelander to do if they're staying elsewhere? We're honored to share that the Town of Flatwoods, WV, Mayor Dale Ball, and the Flatwoods Community Volunteer Fire Department, (Flatwoods Fire Breathers) will be welcoming everyone to town and keeping your well fed daily with a pancake breakfast! WHERE: Flatwoods Community Building 220 Flatwoods Corner Rd, Flatwoods, WV 26621 WHEN: May 2nd & 3rd, 2026 from 6am to noon daily COST: Just $7 (VIP ticket holders get 10% off) Show up and support the local volunteer fire department who will be cosplaying as New Responders from Fallout 76! While supplies last they've minted a collectible Station 9 bottle cap as a souvenir! As an aside - while yes, there are chains in the area you can eat at, we urge everyone to eat local. This area of West Virginia, these people and these towns are thrilled at all of you coming because every bit of tourism money really and truly helps the community.
