I think one of the dangerous things about AI-generated code is that it gives beginners confidence before it gives them competence. Most of the time, people confuse something working with “it’s secure.” Building a bank in 30 minutes is easy o 😂, but building one that can survive fraud, audits, abuse, and real attackers is the real work.

Until AI puts some of you in Prison, you won't rest I just watched a video where one guy is showing his viewers how to build a bank using claude in less than 30 minutes A BANK And he was in the comments arguing that it is secure and safe

@akinkunmi Most people do confuse product interfaces with product infrastructure. Jumia is far more infrastructure than interface. 😂

If you can build Jumia in 2 weeks, I'll pay for your next Codex Plus/Pro subscription. Remember, your goal is to build Jumia, not an e-commerce website. So you have to build the user-facing platform, ad system, dispute resolution, delivery system, seller hub, affiliate platform, and all the systems that work together to make Jumia Jumia. You have till 14th May.

If your product has no logs, no error tracking, and no user activity visibility, You’re not maintaining software. You’re maintaining assumptions.

A lot of companies think they’re secure because nothing has happened. Truth is: Without logs and monitoring, You might already be compromised and just don’t know it.

Unpopular opinion: Most apps don’t get “hacked.” They’re neglected into compromise. No 2FA. Poor access control. Sensitive data exposed. No monitoring. Security isn’t optional. It’s part of the product.

The more your product is dependent on third party APIs the more frustrating and uninteresting it gets to build

@fidexcode Same here, I think coding is addictive. Once you start solving one problem, you just want to keep going.

Nigeria has some of the smartest young people in the world. Imagine what happens when the education system catches up. What do you think Nigerian universities should remove or add to their tech curriculum?

And students: Take ownership. Your degree is not your career. Your skills are. The internet has made self-education cheaper than ever.

Nigerian universities are producing outdated tech graduates. Not because students are not smart. But because the system is preparing them for a tech industry that no longer exists. A thread 🧵
