@PoliceNG_CRU Great idea 💡 Maybe use a simple online platform where every police officer logs in and learns. Messages from leaders can be turned into short lessons so everyone understands and follows them properly.

#impunity is the exemption from punishment, consequences, or accountability for wrongdoing. When someone acts with #impunity, they face no legal, social, or disciplinary repercussions for their actions, regardless of how harmful, illegal, or unethical those actions may be.

I have always harped on retraining. Those are supposed to be undercover agents driving unmarked cars, waiting for the next emergency so they can step in, enforce the law, and bring swift justice. But here, greed and corruption fueled by minted notes have taken over.
Babalola Esq.⚖️@Owiggy_

The Nigeria Police Force needs to tighten up honestly. Why do we have police officer doing stop and search without uniform and no ID Card? Just random outfit like a gangster with a gun. Your colleagues are in uniform, why aren’t you? And you are the loudest. The country itself is not safe, no be Police suppose dey add to our fear🤦🏾‍♂️

At about 3 a.m. today, our gallant soldiers couragously beat back a terrorists' attack on their position in Kemanji, Kaiama. Many of the terrorists were neutralised by the gallant troops. Our brave men not only repelled the terrorists and prevented them from accessing the community, but they also ensured that no one was kidnapped as the terrorists had intended. In the course of repelling the attacks, we lost three courageous men. My sincere condolences are with the families and loved ones of these great men who have paid the supreme price in the service of our fatherland. We will never forget them and others like them in various theatres across the country. We will also continue to support their families and loved ones, while no resource will be spared to protect lives and property of the people.

ISWAP in a statement released today says the Nigerian Air Force bombings against civilians in Jilli is a sign of its "failure and desperation" in confronting the group on the field, and is only trying to "compensate for its heavy loss on the backs of unarmed Muslims". As expected, this massacre only helped ISWAP to position itself more as "protectors of civilians" once more, without any noticeable operational gains.
Brant@BrantPhilip_

Hundreds of civilians feared dead following airstrikes by the Nigerian Air Force yesterday against a market in Jilli, Borno State in northeast Nigeria. According to the army, "scores of [ISWAP] terrorists" were killed, however upon further confirmation it became evident that the vast majority of victims were civilians, as reported by local residents, community leaders and relatives. These airstrikes come as retaliation, or collective punishment, for the recent ISWAP attacks against the Ngamdu and Benisheikh military camps, which resulted in considerable human and material loss including the loss of a Brigadier General. The Jilli market is currently managed and controlled by ISWAP, which explains the movements of militants in and out, however it is not used as a base of operations for the group, who prefers to lay its positions away from civilians to make sure no locals leak their movements to the army. In December 2025, the NAF carried out similar airstrikes against fishermen living under ISWAP territory on the Lake Chad shores, resulting in several civilian deaths as well.

Mr President, This lukewarm response is exactly what I expected — and I'm not surprised. Calling it a "sign of desperation" while they’re plucking your redneck generals suggests all is not well at the front. It certainly doesn’t look like confidence. It looks like strain.
Bola Ahmed Tinubu@officialABAT

From the reports I have received, our armed forces have been conducting sustained, intense land and air offensives against the insurgents, neutralising many terrorist fighters and commanders. The insurgents’ counterattack is a sign of desperation.   I extend my condolences to the families of our gallant soldiers, led by  Brigadier-General Oseni Omoh Braimah, who made the ultimate sacrifice in the defence of our country in Borno State.   The government will never forget their sacrifices. Their sacrifices will not be in vain. Because of the courage and dedication of our troops on the frontline, our resolve to defeat terrorism and all forms of violence across Nigeria is stronger than ever.   I urge the Military High Command and our troops in all theatres of operation: Do not lose heart, do not be weary, do not be discouraged.   Our officers and men should continue to serve with honour, courage, and patriotism. The government will always stand by the Armed Forces, provide more of the equipment needed and ensure the welfare of all who risk their lives for our safety.   I urge Nigerians and the media to continue to support our Military in their relentless battle against insurgency and banditry. We should desist from celebrating or condoning the attacks against our troops. These soldiers are our heroes; unforgettable and irreplaceable.   My condolences also go to the government and people of Borno State. The Federal Government will continue to work with the state government to achieve total victory and lasting peace. Bola Ahmed Tinubu President & Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Federal Republic of Nigeria

DHQ PRESS RELEASE TROOPS OF OPERATION HADIN KAI SUCCESSFULLY REPEL TERRORIST ATTACK IN BENISHEIKH In continuation of the Armed Forces of Nigeria’s (AFN) counter terrorism efforts, troops of the 29 Task Force Brigade in Operation HADIN KAI came under a coordinated terrorist attack on their location at the Brigade Headquarters in Benisheikh, Borno State. The attack occurred at approximately 0030hrs (12:30am) on Thursday, 9 April 2026, as insurgents attempted to breach the defensive perimeter of the military installation. However, the troops, led by the Commander 29 Brigade, Brigadier General Oseni Braimah, responded with exceptional courage, professionalism, and superior firepower. In a well-coordinated counteraction, the insurgents were decisively engaged and forced to retreat in disarray, abandoning their mission and leaving behind traces of their failed assault. This attack is a clear indication of the desperation of terrorist elements who, having suffered significant losses in recent operations, continue to resort to futile and ill-fated offensives against well-defended military positions. The swift and decisive response by troops underscores the high level of combat readiness, resilience, and operational effectiveness of Operation HADIN KAI in safeguarding critical locations and maintaining pressure on terrorist groups across the North-East theatre. Regrettably, the encounter resulted in the loss of a few brave and gallant soldiers who paid the supreme price in the line of duty. The Chief of Defence Staff, General Olufemi Olatunbosun Oluyede, honours their heroism, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment to the defence of the nation. Their courage will forever remain a source of pride and inspiration to the Armed Forces of Nigeria and the entire nation. The High Command extends its deepest condolences to their families and loved ones. In line with established military tradition and respect for the fallen, the general public and media are kindly requested to allow the Armed Forces to formally notify the next of kin before the release of further details. The public is also urged to disregard misinformation, sensational reports, and unverified content circulating across social media platforms, as these undermine ongoing operations and national security efforts. The Armed Forces of Nigeria, in collaboration with other security agencies and stakeholders, remain resolute and undeterred in the ongoing fight against terrorism and insurgency. Additional clearance and exploitation operations are ongoing in the general area to track and neutralize fleeing insurgents, as well as to deny them any opportunity to regroup. The Chief of Defence Staff, commends the bravery, discipline, and steadfastness of the troops, whose sacrifices continue to ensure the safety, stability, and sovereignty of Nigeria. Their dedication in one of the most challenging operational environments reaffirms the Armed Forces’ commitment to restoring lasting peace in the North-East and across the country. The general public is encouraged to continue supporting the Armed Forces through timely and credible information that can aid ongoing operations. Citizens are urged to remain calm, vigilant, and law-abiding as security forces sustain momentum in ongoing operations. Further updates will be provided as necessary. @HQNigerianArmy Kudos to the Nigerian Army. Thank you for all you do. The @PoliceNG force needs to do more to give visibility to vulnerable communities and keep such threats away. There's no need to see check points every 20 meters in urban centres when our communities are plagued by bandits.
