Your family doctor makes $22 for your visit, and nothing for reviewing labs, letters etc. Some of these visits take 30min or more. No wonder public healthcare is so affordable for the Government, and there is a shortage of family doctors.

So many simple cold cases in ER these days. 811 needs to pay physicians including pediatricians to review cases and that would decrease the ER visits easily by 25%.

Now that naturopaths, Chiropractors call themselves doctors and diagnose medical conditions. We should use the term "physician" to distinguish ourselves.

People want GPs not NPs. The patients will suffer at a higher cost without GP based care. I'm all for team-based care. NPs can assist GPs in prescription refills, simple medical issues, medical forms...

So many GPS would prefer to move and live in BC, but cannot afford both a paycut and the higher living costs of BC. Make compensation equal to Alberta at least to even the playing field.

@Faussenurse Hahahaha. Had a NP prescribe lotriderm for a wart. Prescribed antibiotics for stasis dermatitis and ignored the edema and heart failure. Among many other incompetence.

The issue is that Family Doctors are not paid for their services. Theyre overworked and underpaid both at the same time. It's that simple.

In 4 yrs this Govt model is a proven failure at high cost to taxpayers, resulted in worsening FP crisis & healthcare collapsing, why is Dix still pushing UPCC?
