This is only the 7th time in my life #Illini basketball has made the Sweet 16. I’m almost 40.
By that metric alone, it is a successful season.
Most encouraging, though? Underwood’s team showed a sense of urgency this weekend.

Since the 9-minute mark of the first half vs. UCLA, this #Illini team hasn't felt fully themselves.
Regardless of opponent, the second half vs. Penn was such a breath of fresh air. It was a reminder that, "Oh yeah, this team IS pretty damn good."
Hopefully the switch has been flipped back to "ON" and they go on the kind of run they're capable of.

Despite the struggles down the stretch, there is no excuse for Illinois this weekend.

Brad has considerably raised the bar for this program.
But, it is totally appropriate to question if he's the guy to take you to the next step.
If, for argument's sake, we're "stuck" with Brad, it's a pretty good place to be stuck. That can still be a frustrating place, though.

The SFC was up for grabs. The crowd was amped like it hasn't been in years.
