@WallyWingert I’m okay with tackling the ol’ ventriloquist vs. dummy thing, but it ain’t gonna be Magic. Call it something else. Don’t pretend it’s a remake.

Husband got his physical results back yesterday. His testosterone levels are higher than most men in their 20s.

Talked to the Catholic Church this morning. They are going to pass along a letter to my biological parents - if they are still alive. This is probably too honest, but I just can't help but speak from the heart. I've got to bet that they are wired the same way. These are the photos I chose. Hey! So, really no non-awkward way to do this, so I’ll just say it. I’m reaching out because I'm working to open my adoption records, and the agency you worked with in 1977 has offered to pass along a letter.  Sorry, it’s weird for me too. I’m not writing with huge expectations or pressure. But you are a part of my life I’ve wanted to understand for a long time, and I didn’t want to wait any longer to connect. A bit about me. I live in Massachusetts and work in politics and technology. I’ve been married to a wonderful man for seventeen years. I’ve done really well! I have a great house, a wild career and my work takes me around the world doing media. I love to run, and I’m ridiculously tall and thin. (Thanks for those genes!) Guess there’s no way to introduce myself without explaining why I’m not your son. I knew from a very young age that I should have been a girl, and I transitioned as an adult. My adoptive family didn’t take any of this well, and they did disown me. I have not seen them for 20 years, and it's been very difficult going through life with no family. I share it simply because it’s part of my story and I want to be honest from the start. I also want to say, I’m not angry at you for giving me up. I’ve read enough about the pressures of this era. You could not have known what I would be facing, and although emotionally I had little support, the financial security of that home did give me the skills and education to have a successful life. If you’d be open to exchanging a few emails or messages, I think we’d both have fun! I mean, what have you been up to for 48 years? Have to be stories! Either way, I hope you’re well. I want you to know I’ve built a life and I’m doing okay. I like to think the spark in me that made me able to survive difficult things came from you. Even though I don’t know you yet, I do love you, and I’m proud to be your child. I hope we can speak soon. Brianna

@jpalmiotti I wish I’d shared that one with my kid — they did watch Jason and the Argonauts and loved the effects. Harryhausen still resonates.

The stop action photography made this otherworldly. If it were CGI it would lose impact. I also remember this in the theatre as a kid wondering why they think a blade could hurt stone- and they should be all running away.

The six-armed Kali in The Golden Voyage of Sinbad (1973) is one of stop-motion master Ray Harryhausen’s most complex creations. Staging a fight between six men and a six-armed creature was a logistical “nightmare” and took four months to animate. Movie-making at its magical best

I don't understand this. Overall imdb raters give Starfleet Academy 4.6/10. But the two episodes got 6.4 and 6. Are people hating on the show without actually seeing it?

@thefrankwu Well, you know I love you. I said it on a convention panel. My dog is a little annoyed with all the hugging.

Everything is terrible. All the more reason for us not to be. Our job: make the world a better place. So do what you can, no matter how insignificant it might seem. Protest. Yes. But also - tell me a joke. Give your dog a hug. Tell people you love them. Smile at a stranger. Go.

@thefrankwu @ErinAlMehairi I'm not kink shaming you, Frank, but I like you the way you are. I figured you'd be leading the resistance during the inevitable robot uprising.

@BriannaWu You are strong, kind, and intelligent. Once again thank you for being a beacon at a time I've needed it. I'm so sorry the world keeps weighing down.

Y’all it is so bleak reading the hateful comments from conservatives on trans women. It’s really hard not to just feel depressed. If you have any kind words, I could use them today.
