Since when did a private citizen’s social media post become a constitutional instrument? Are we now interpreting WhatsApp captions as declarations of state power? Cde Tagwirei is a Head Elder (H.Eld.) in the SDA Church. Within that context, “HE” is a religious honorific, not a political title. Just as we refer to bishops as “His Grace” or traditional leaders as “His Royal Highness,” the use of “HE” in a spiritual or communal setting is neither new nor controversial. What is controversial is the deliberate misreading of such titles to fuel factional hysteria. And now we are told that Zim1 is “seriously ill,” that he may be suffering from vascular dementia, and that “Zvigananda” are taking advantage of him. These are not verified medical facts. They are speculative, cruel, and politically motivated whispers designed to delegitimize the sitting Head of State and sow confusion in the body politic.
