Can someone who agrees with this explain to me what it means to "earn your vote." I see so many people say this but never say what the criteria is and how it's different from just voting for the candidate that most closely aligns to you.

@Fansibubble @DrDiGiorgio @AbrahamIdokoko The right "to" a lawyer isn't in the constitution. The right is a freedom from prosecution etc. unless the state provides a lawyer. Hence if the state cannot provide one, they are not allowed to prosecute etc. you.
EX: Oregon just released like 2000 people due to this.

EX: If there's a drought for 1000 days, you die due to not having access to water. It's a limitation.
If the government violates your rights and bans you from drinking water, that's a violation of the restrictions.

Meaning if there are no lawyers available, the government is not allowed to do those things to you.
Hence the right TO something doesn't exist. It's the freedom from something.

In the same spirit the executive determines your eligibility to get government provided healthcare aka Medicaid.
