Can we build more legumes into our systems? There is a considerable level of N that can be fixed through them. We don't make great use of them in this country. Only about 4% of land in the UK has legumes in them at any one time. @Farm3Dwithtrees @TheAHDB #ResilientFarmRoadshow

@agricology @Farm3Dwithtrees @TheAHDB Interesting data. How is that collected? From the actual plants post harvest, or soil? Just compared to my soil Nmin tests, fields post field beans or vetch are higher in N, but only in the order of 10-50kgs, a lot of which is within the mysterious “N later” bit.

Can any of my followers recommend someone to help with this? I was having this Bentley Big Bore restored but the company went out of business. It’s been fully resprayed but needs the interior reupholstering and refitting, lights and electrics etc.

Day 13 of Harvest 🌾 Back cutting after some wet weather (which I don’t mind — the potatoes needed it!). We’re cutting spring barley that, fingers crossed, should go for malting. 🍺🌾🚜

Never ceases to amaze me the engineering of a combine harvester when set up right can give a very clean high quality crop. One the buyer wants to buy.

@harrym_vids @tomallenstevens In a similar boat as many others on own farm withCSMT ending dec 25. We ‘may’ hear about a revised SFI sometime in Sept but wouldn’t expect it to open for apps il spring26 & don’t be surprised if options have £ cap as with capital grant scheme 🤔

@tomallenstevens @DefraGovUK Aren’t they supposed to be releasing details of the revised SFI offer over the next few weeks? It’s nuts how Defra doesn’t seem realise farmers have to work to seasons, rather than their random announcements .

For 1st time in c15 years we’re not going to be paid for overwinter bird food and shelter. CS ag’ment comes to an end Dec’25 & @DefraGovUK has ended SFI. So should we take it back to arable rotation or plant & nurture it unfunded? Need to plan the autumn/winter work

Capital grants 100% allocated and closed. Good that the scheme opened but a challenge for those farmers busy during harvest without agents able to do it on their behalf.
