The Farmers Club Newsletter - One lady told us this week that using AI bought her some time back. Time is Farmers most important resource. That's why we are running an AI webinar for Farmers. Join us here thefarmersclub.com.au The latest stories: The fuel and Fertiliser shortage will more than likely mean less Grain worldwide. Some are suggesting that it might be a good thing. We expand on this… The big Farm Machinery brands just want to add automation to what they already have. One company is doing it very differently. Are you seeing more rubbish dumped along the roadsides? We have, and saw a real hot spot during the week. There's a mob spending over $1 million renovating a famous Woolshed. We look back at our Pastoral past. Gwen Bourchier is about to turn 100. The Bouchiers are Farming royalty. We look back at some of her great achievements. Why are the Bull catalogues so extensive? One lady gives us a rundown on how much work goes into them. We asked our subscribers if we need to run an AI workshop so that we all get a better understanding of what it's all about. It was an overwhelming yes. Timing is the key to success, but we have also discovered that moments play a role, too. We explain. We wrote about how the US and Australia have been dealt great cards when it comes to resources under the ground. One of us takes advantage of it, the other doesn't. I'm sure you can guess. We elaborate. Have a great Saturday, and remember to subscribe to keep up with what AI is doing in Ag.

The Farmers Club Newsletter - It's in times like these that we need to employ non-commodity thinking. Join us here thefarmersclub.com.au The latest stories: Is this the time to change the way you Farm and invest in some tech that is going to make you money? We relay examples. The old Livestock Agents were characters, and they could do deals back in the day. There is one standout reason why they were more successful back then. We elaborate. Growing Export Hay is going to the next level. But it requires a new technique. We discuss what needs to happen. In times like these, we need to find things that inspire us. They help us avoid getting caught up in all the negativity going around. It's a new requirement for business is to keep their customers safe. Whether that's a transactional or a trust thing. We explain. Our terms of trade keep diminishing in Ag. Always have an always will. Mike Stephens outlines in a podcast how we can beat it. Alice Mabin was a guest on our latest private podcast. She is about to release something that's a little "Clarkson's Farm" like. Subscribe to listen. Are we about to witness a new era of Farm Machinery? We pull out the crystal ball. When we grow a Crop we take from the soil, and then we have to return what we took. But what is the cost if we don't return anything? It's a good article, this. Have a great Wednesday, and subscribe to keep peeling the knowledge onion.

The Farmers Club Newsletter - It's not about the content, it's about what the content can do for you.... Join us here thefarmersclub.com.au Keep peeling the knowledge onion - Some of the smartest people in Agriculture are the people who take time out to learn things. They put time aside to read or gather the appropriate information they need to keep their minds sharp and their businesses evolving. It's a bit like an onion where you keep peeling back the layers, and each time you do, you reveal more. We know our subscribers spend time peeling back the knowledge onion. We are very lucky to have an excellent daily open rate of 88 per cent. Remember, it's not about the content we deliver; it's what the content can do for you.

The Farmers Club Newsletter - Businesses need to focus on making their customers feel safe Join us here thefarmersclub.com.au Keeping your customers safe A subscriber who is close to the banking and finance industry sent me an image of a simple J-curve related to fraud. Have you been caught out or do you know someone who has been caught by fraud? Fraud, unfortunately, is on the rise, and with the advent of AI, it's only going to keep accelerating. It's a must now when paying an invoice that you ring the business or person to confirm the bank account details. People want to feel safe when they are dealing with money. It’s one thing that businesses need to focus on, is to make their customers feel safe. Whether that's a transactional level, or it's a trust thing.

@FarmTender We’ve also seen it in earthmoving over last 50 years. Have 2 Caterpillar dozers built in Japan by Mitsubishi, an International loader built by Komatsu, and several Komatsu loaders. The Asian gear is top quality. If they put their minds to it they’d build good broadacre eqpmnt.

The Farmers Club stories - Over 600 people subscribe and read our newsletter 6 mornings a week. Is this a new era of Farm Machinery? Can you see the time when the dominant North American and European branded Farm Machinery is over and being replaced by the Asian brands? We have seen it in cars and Utes, so why not Farm Machinery? Have the incumbents had their time in the sun? Have they got to a point where they are now milking the system with their high prices? We unpack this in today's edition. What do you reckon? The Farmers Club Ideas - Is learning how to learn critical in Ag? Learning how to learn - One of the gurus I subscribe to said the most important skill of this century is learning how to learn. Farming these days is such a complex business, and those who aren't in the loop can fall behind. We went to a 2-day conference in Wagga Wagga and learned so much about how others approach it, and we also got to witness what might be around the corner. It's invaluable stuff. Learning how to learn is working out what works best for you and where to go to find the best information. Have a great Sunday, and subscribe to learn how best to learn. The Farmers Club stories - We know you're not that interested in our content, but we know that you're interested in what our content can do for you... Go here to sign up thefarmersclub.com.au The latest stories: We track the Bingham empire, which now comprises 30 Headers, a Machinery collection and 15,000 acres of prime "squatters" country. We found out that some people have a "drop-dead document", and we outlined examples of some. We saw a great innovation to prevent cattle losses when it floods in the North. Simon Quilty uses his graphs to tell the story for him, and we explain how he's at odds with what ABARES is forecasting. Phosphate Hill is an important Agricultural asset, and it's now saved. We explain the reasons why. Observation 1 - There were bugger all cars on the Hume Freeway last Wednesday Observation 2 - The Glenrowen BP Servo was the dirtiest servo I have seen. Observation 3 - Passing on costs is now a sport Observation 4 - A Farmer is buying more Sheep and taking out Cropping area. Observation 5 - The SA government employs support people to look after kids in classes who can't concentrate. It's bizarre, this one. Observation 6 - On a flight to Adelaide on Wednesday, I have never seen a more sparsely populated domestic flight. We did a story on a Farmer who sold his Boomspray, as he now Sprays his Crop with a Drone. He says he has it down pat. In these strange time are the suppliers you support supporting you? We outline what they should be doing. Stockpiling inputs is a growing trend in Ag. And after this settles down, it will keep trending. Have a great Saturday, and subscribe to start each day fully informed.

The Farmers Club Stories - We should be very thankful for this.... Sign up here thefarmersclub.com.au Important asset saved I know the purchase of Phosphate Hill, the ammonium phosphate Fertiliser mine that produces around 1 million tonnes of DAP and MAP, was covered in the media, but I think we underestimate the importance of this transaction. It has been spelled out in the last week or so, having to be reliant on imported stuff, which is a threat to our way of Farming. Let's hope they can thrive and continue to deliver us DAP/MAP Fertilisers for many years to come. Is this the type of thing we need to do to keep our Farmers Farming?  Reply to dwaind@thefarmersclub.com.au or 0427 011 900

The Farmers Club Newsletter - Because it's not about our content, it's about what our content can do for you. Sign up here thefarmersclub.com.au The latest stories: Halter, the Virtual Fencing company, did a strong presentation at the event, but when asked about collar Sheep it was a no from them. You can get caught up in all the talk of fuel and input prices, which can start playing on your mind. We talk about how you can avoid this and make decisions with a clear mind. Simon Quilty delivered another positive presentation with a few surprises. It's looking good for Livestock, and Simon's predictions are at odds with ABARES. Farmers get the guilts when they are away from the Farm or when they are not working, and others are. We have a case study of this and how you can avoid that guilty feeling. Exclusion Fencing is working, and it's interesting that it has a positive effect on Land values. We have a case study of how it's worked for one Farmer. I bought a flash new Cricket bag back in my 20s, and the dog pissed on it. So I used an old poly Super bag to cart my gear around after that. There is a good story behind this. We highlight a restaurant business that has been around for 47 years, so it's stood the test of time. We also talk about how the generation Farming business stands out and why they last for generations. One new subscriber sent this in "Really love the newsletter, mate. Doing a great job. It certainly has got me thinking differently, and I enjoy the wide range of topics". It's the thinking bit that we love and explain why. Have a great Thursday, and subscribe to keep yourself informed.

The Farmers Club - Ideas, learnings, networking, what a great 2 days. It's so important to get off the Farm and do these things. Sign up here thefarmersclub.com.au We have just attended the Pasture Agronomy Service conference at Wagga Wagga over the last 2 days, and it's been a great 2 days of learnings. We have a bevy of story ideas for the next week or so. It was interesting to note that with all the media and social media talk about fuel and input prices and what's going on politically, it wasn't really talked about here. Conference host Mark Lucas said that many of the Farmers in the room were at the cutting edge and would be in the top 10 per cent of their chosen Farming pursuit. They were there to take away the postives and there were plenty of them. If you are in the Livestock game, then brace yourself for the ride of a lifetime if Simon Quilty's presentation is anything to go by. We cover it and more in the subscriber edition

The Farmers Club stories - in life and in business, you need to engage with things that take your thinking to the next level. It's an essential ingredient to keep us on the green line... Sign up here - thefarmersclub.com.au The thinking bit We had a good reply over the weekend from a new subscriber. He said this: "Really love the newsletter, mate. Doing a great job. It certainly has got me thinking differently, and I enjoy the wide range of topics". Very kind words from this Farmer, but the bit that excites us is the thinking bit. That's exactly what we want to achieve, and in there lies the value. We are constantly learning.......

The Farmers Club - A good club is a place where you give a little and get a whole heap more in return. Come join us here thefarmersclub.com.au Latest articles: We talk a lot about oversupplied and undersupplied markets. One famous Ag entrepreneur always made sure his industry was undersupplied. This is a great story. My mate bought Don Bradman's Sigma many years ago. It's an interesting story as to what happened to it We interviewed Ben McEvoy, an ex-AFL footballer, in one of our podcasts. He explained to us that the penny dropped for him about 8 or 9 years into his career, and he started hearing and understanding things differently. Most Farmers underpay themselves; it was probably worse 20 or 30 years ago. But underpaying yourself has its own set of problems. We explain. I heard something the other day where someone said we all should think of ourselves as the CEO of us. What I mean there is you be the CEO of you. It could lead to a dramatic shift in mindset. I picked up on something yesterday. When we don't feel safe about something, the subject tends to consume our brains. You might not be feeling safe about Fuel ore Fertliser reserves right now. It's a pattern, and we can prove why. There has been a lot of hoarding of things like fuel and Fertiliser this week. It's been Farmers toilet paper moment. The Trucking Association of Australia has been calling on the government to hold at least 90 days of fuel on land for years now. It's been falling on deaf ears, and they aren't happy. When production meets price. We have all had those moments in Farming where the planets align. We have a couple of great examples. Have a great Saturday, and subscribe to stay fully informed.

The Farmers Club Farming stories - Here's part of one below. Sign up here - thefarmersclub.com.au It's because we don’t feel safe I've noticed something. When there are things around us that make us feel unsafe, we need to learn more about the issue. So if there's media or information around what's making us feel unsafe, we'll consume it. I checked the stats for our last 2 shortform "End of Message" podcasts: one was on Hay and the other on Fertiliser. Which one do you think has the most listens? You guessed it, the Fertiliser had double the listens, and it's 24 hours younger than the Hay one. We explain why....

The Farmers Club stories - If you're not up with it you're falling behind. thefarmersclub.com.au The latest stories include: Yong people in Ag who are self-starters will make it. I came across one the other day. We went deeper with our subscribers on the green line graph. We are getting good at growing Grain which is oversupplying our markets. We are also getting good at finishing Lambs in an undersupplied market. The Hay Box could be a great Ag innovation. We talk rain. Is there no better feeling in Ag when you have had a great rain event? Now that the rain has come, many Farmers are implementing a new strategy from the one they had a week ago. Are you a Biofuels believer? Can we create a new industry here? We discuss. How one Machinery salesperson became the Farmers persaonal asset manager and why you should do the same. On-Farm crime rates are increasing, and there is now a business dedicated to solving that problem. It’s interesting as to what triggers a crime wave in the bush. Have a great Thursday, and subscribe to keep yourself on the green line.

The Farmers Club Newsletter - This one is about you.... Join here - thefarmersclub.com.au Green line glory - We talk about the green line graph a bit. See it in an image below. I remember the first time I saw it, it resonated and gave me a little reminder that this whole business world just got a little bit tougher, and if I didn’t step up, then I would be reduced to the average line. And if you’re on the average line, you are really on the red line and going backwards. Why? Becuase other have lifted, which forces the average down. Row Crop Farmers in the US are going through this average and red line stuff right now. We don’t want our industries to head the same way. It takes effort to raise the bar, and you have to really want to do it. So this one is about you. Sourcing valuable content is a good starting point to green line glory. I will leave it with you.

The Farmers Club - New Ag media, that's creating new habits. thefarmersclub.com.au Convincing people to do something different is difficult. We are creatures of habit, and sometimes we avoid uncomfortable things at our own peril. And convincing people to do something different in Ag is another level again. That's not a sledge; that's the way it is, and we write about how Ag only lets you make small incremental gains when you want to grow something. Our 600-odd subscribers are hard-earned, take my word for it. A mate of mine used to work at the Weekly Times, and he reckons (back then) half their readership just bought the paper out of habit. It was the thing to drive to the newsagent's or milk bar on a Wednesday and grab it. What we have to do is create new and better habits for people, and we think we have, as we are consistently getting 90-odd per cent open rates each day. That's unheard of. Our subscription is about this: you take a little (a small monthly fee), and you get a hell of a lot more in return. We have created a new habit for 600-odd of the very best Farmers and Ag people in the Land.
