Wrong.
Two-thirds of land in UK is unsuitable for growing food crops.
Cows graze this land and turn otherwise useless pasture into nutrient-dense meat for humans.
Livestock can also eat byproducts of food crops that would otherwise be useless eg spent grain from brewing and distilling.
Stop blaming livestock!

Great to speak at the #RestoreNatureNow Rally in London yesterday. I spoke about the cow in the room... The blind spot of many who care about climate, nature, and the environment: our diet. Nature is in decline not just because us concreting the country, the climate crisis, or the fossil fuel industry, but largely due to what we choose to eat. Farmland takes up about 75% of our country. We grow plants, to feed animals, to feed people - an inefficient system. For example, we put 10 times more protein into a cow than we get back out. If we stop eating animals, we can give 50% of the land back to nature. That’s how we resolve this crisis. @RNNMarch @XRebellionUK @PlantBasedNews @AnimalRising

Not eating anything would reduce food GHGs by 100%.

Reducing meat to healthy levels (92 cal/day) and avoiding ruminants cd almost halve GHGs from food. A more resonant way to communicate is: “reducing meat intake to 3x times p/wk saves as much CO2 as a short flight a month”. Fiona Steinitz et al @imperialcollege @nationaltrust

The demise of small UK abattoirs reflects an alleged improvement of food chains. While they have faced massive challenges, there is recognition of the importance in local, sustainable food systems, covid vividly illustrated the vulnerability of long complexed food chains.

Whether you like Jessa or not, this has been an ever growing issue since local authorities abrogated from providing corporation funded abattoirs. If you want local meat, which is one of the keys to localism, it needs sorting.
