Normies are already getting one-shotted by malicious websites that tell them to run a command that just installs malware.
The design should imply “this box should be rarely used and by nerds only”.

@nextgenos2026 What I rlly hate abt winui is that it has basically no language support and it's pretty much forced to use C# with all of its caveats and annoyances
It just leads to a very messy looking code structure
I much prefer working on more lean markups like GTK blueprint or QT qml

The one that needs updating before using winget is Windows 10
Regardless pacman and most Linux package managers that are not nix are still faster than winget

@ilikeburgers87 @MMatt14 given this was starting from total fresh state (hence edge needing to do first setup) youd need to include the time it takes windows to update the windows installer from the microsoft store before winget executes.
So itd actually end up longer not faster.

Background apps and overlays now spill to system RAM first instead of evicting the game’s critical VRAM assets. In real testing with Cyberpunk 2077 on high settings, this resulted in stable frame times with zero gradual stutters, keeping around 7.4 GB in fast VRAM. It could make affordable SteamOS gaming far more viable than the specs alone suggest. Valve to make 8 GB enough in 2026 with optimizations like this
