The Bad Little Nine -
Jackson Kahn Design
Most par 3 courses are made for a relaxing walk in the park.
Now imagine a par 3 course made for sadists!
A par 3 course with a $1,000 bounty 💰if you can shoot par with the tough pins, even though most of the holes are under 100 yards.
The Bad Little Nine is unlike any other par 3 course and it’s an absolute blast! Every hole is treacherous and difficult, requiring exacting precision both on approach and short game.
You can play the torturous way. Try to finish each hole. You may find yourself playing ping pong and getting a 15 from 75 yards.
Or you can play the fun way. Go for birdies and pars…then pick up and move on!
The holes are varied and gorgeous. The pin positions are diabolical. The conditions are second to none. The cheers and jeers you hear from groups playing here are loud and the fun reverberates throughout the area.
The perfect finish to a great day at Scottsdale National.

@tak6tak @GolfTravelerJoe Mike Stranz. He imbued a sense of adventure like no other architect I’ve experienced.

Ok golf peeps here’s the question of the day. Tell us about your favorite golf course architect when it comes to courses you have actually played and what is it about their designs that you like. I’ll go first with this guy and the way he used so many small pieces of land to create what he did.

I didn't grow up with much money.
My mom actually cleaned houses for a living.
She made about $50 per day. But, somehow like so many other amazing moms, she made it work.
I never remember waking up before my mom. She was always working. I started working construction at 13 to try and help, but somehow we always seemed to be behind.
It's also why I started MyGolfSpy. I wanted to take care of her the way she took care of us. Playing an expensive sport like golf was the last thing on my mind.
I did play baseball though but could never afford my own bat. I always just borrowed someone else's when it was my turn to hit.
Buying a set of golf clubs? Wasn't even a thought.
In high school, all my friends played on the golf team and one year convinced me to come try out. Somehow I made the team.
Problem was I had borrowed a set of clubs during the try out. Coach told me I couldn't play in the first match unless I had my own set.
I told him to just to fill my spot with someone else, we just couldn't afford it.
Somehow, one of the people my mom worked for found out I didn't have clubs and couldn't play.
I still remember his name: Mr. Legere.
He called me on the phone and asked me one question, "You ready to go win your first match?".
"Yes, sir", I said. And that was it.
He said "good luck," and we got off the phone, thinking nothing of it.
A few days later though a big box showed up in the mail. It was from Mr. Legere.
It was a brand new full set of golf clubs, bag and all. I couldn't believe it. I couldn't believe someone would give up a full set of clubs just so a kid like me could give golf a try.
I would have never made it to that match if it wasn't for him and most likely would have never played another round of golf in my life.
I think back to that day and the impact it still has on my life, even now. My entire career has now been golf, and for the rest of it, I want to help more people like Mr. Legere helped me.
If you know anyone who can't afford a set of clubs but wants to play the game of golf please send an email to adam.beach@mygolfspy.com
I would love to hear their story and help support a few other kids like he did for me.
Sincerely,
Adam Beach

@tak6tak @AndrewYang A three party system could work. Cuz the two party system we got ain’t working.
English

@AndrewYang No, but more than a two party system wouldn't work.
Say there's 5, the leaders of 4&5 are in last so they'll merge, 2&3 do it to not be left out. 1 joins either 45 or 23 so they have a shot. There's always going to be 2 parties.

@tak6tak They start to come back in their early 20’s when they start paying their own bills. That’s when the light bulb goes off and they go, “Oh, I see what my parents were telling me now.”
