Still limited by compute, so I built a thing that runs codex in the cloud, powered by @Cloudflare firecracker boxes (and since that's not beefy enough for larger projects, tests are run via crabbox) Uses Ghostty ofc, via WebAssembly. Codex replicated itself, basically.

As a programmer I think this is totally fair, but I think what people actually mean is that they don’t want to *know* they’re interacting with a car computer, and what they mean by “car computer” is “shitty Android tablet with touch controls for everything”. They want a good user experience. They want things to just work, and be intuitive. Shitty Android tablets are not delivering that.

Fuck this OpenAI employee, seriously fuck him. Also read this quantitative study, which I had nothing to do with, that says my technical predictions have bee largely correct. github.com/davegoldblatt/… I should not have to put up with this level of unhinged hostility, simply for defending views that have frequently been challenging to his company. Nor should I have to put up with him neither giving evidence nor allowing me to respond. This man appears to be both a coward and a liar, with only insults, literally a bottom feeder in @Paulg’s pyramid of argumentation. That this empty slander is all he has got is perhaps a sign of how desperate OpenAI has become.

.@tenstorrent when you are ready, we'll get you on MLPerf for $10M. Ground up stack, one 1MB pip install, zero C++20 (pure Python). From how many people I see on X trying to rewrite it, your current software approach isn't working.

We _tolerate_ C++'s complexity because of historical relevance and success of C++, and because modern C++ is becoming slightly better due to competition from Woke Crab Gang 🦀 Convoluted code in C++ may blow our foot off. In Blowlang, who knows what will happen?

@oxcrowx >It is too complex if you're happy with C++ complexity, Jai's version of "we got everything" should not be a problem

@FatRustDev @carllerche Who cares? It compiles in seconds, generates a decent sized self contained executable, has good performance, excellent concurrency with go routines… the agent will handle the boilerplate. And if needed understanding the code later is relatively easy

Which programming languages will thrive the most in the agent-era? Why will it not be Go? It is simple, consistent, predictable, and has excellent local reasoning.

@Waffl3x @oxcrowx actually I wasn't talking about you btw But yeah it's hard to have a complete opinion about something you haven't tried and only seen through clips. You can see people play guitar but you don't know how it feels before you actually play it yourself
