This week, @quipnetwork will be releasing a major testnet update, and it's not just a patch.
What's happening:
They are integrating the official testnet chain-spec into the validator stack, meaning the network now starts with a canonical and verified configuration (same base for everyone).
The entire validation and mining stack is being moved to v0.2-preview. New nodes no longer depend on older versions (v0.1 is being phased out without forced migration).
Old system components (like QUIC) are being removed, and the configuration is being simplified to a cleaner and more controlled model.
The network now runs on clear profiles: CPU / GPU / validator / miner + modular faucet.
Everything is verified with checksums and reproducible builds, and even the chain-spec is validated byte by byte against the official image.
They are moving from experimental infrastructure to a more closed, consistent network architecture, ready to operate as a real validator system.
This is no longer just a testnet playing with ideas, it's a network base in consolidation.
