@discopomp @philiprosedale right, so locking out at least by agent age to prevent the daily scammers, bot or not, has just been a layer of comfort for some if they're hit with any consistency by them leaving the groups to have more attention to moderating since there is less protections there

@philiprosedale @FaunyOne When it comes to not allowing new accounts in stores- you've also got a massive problem with scam accounts who try to sell gift cards to stores they are not associated with (they create a new account with a vaguely related av name often)

SL folks: Why are people ejecting new residents from their shops/parcels? What do we need to change to make that unnecessary?

@philiprosedale Locking down groups i monitor for other brands and organizations to keep the spread down while posting "how to be scammer aware" so. to circle back to your original question, it is to keep those out of their lands to protect our patrons of our shops and venues as one less stress

@philiprosedale profiles, they spread like an STD, they can see those groups, join them and spam the "please help i need 100L ill pay you back!" and its just a red tide of scamming or the phishing links that steal peoples accounts. again, both i have spent weeks some times locking in and (cont)
