Wyvern FC Red CSFL

A Big win in the league today after last weeks humbling in the Hampshire cup. We welcomed back a few faces that we missed last week and were back at the Lapstone. 14-0 with some of our forwards missing was such an improvement. In cup action again next week.

1st game in Div 1 against a strong AFC Hutwood side. It was a slow start from us after many of the lads having a big night out. 2-0 up and had a wobble at 2-1 , saw them Off with 10 men (ridiculous sending off) . Questionable team selections too. Garrity ⚽️⚽️ JC⚽️ Moulder⚽️

So the new season is upon us in the City of Southampton football league. After completing Division 3 undefeated the boys have been promoted to Division 1. We have added some new faces to the group, so away we go on Sunday against AFC Hutwood, wish us luck 🔴🔵🟡🔵

A tough game in extreme heat yesterday, but they came good in the end beating a strong Crackle Rock side full of 1st team players from Saturday football. Some stand out performances and 2 strong debuts from the new boys 5-3 win doesn’t reflect our dominance.

We start our pre season matches this Sunday against a strong Crackle Rock side. We have some impressive new signings to make their debuts. 2pm kick off at Wyvern Muga. See you there

Unbeaten season for Wyvern Reds . Promoted 4 divisions before the season started and smashed it ! Played 14 , won 13 and drew 1, well done lads, enjoy the celebrations

Finally got the win that made us champions. it’s been the wettest winter that I can remember , but we have it won now. Horton Hawks have pushed us all season, so it was fitting to win it against them.

Terrible performance from the lads today. We held on for a point against a team the played for nearly an hour with 10 men. We conceded 2 goals that were easily avoidable and were lucky to not concede a 3rd. Tough game next week too. 😡😡

A tough game at AFC Hythe today. A dismal 1st half showing saw us go in with a 2-1 lead but the performance was once of our worst this year. The 2nd half was much improved and the boys ran out 5-2 winners. Tayler Chapman converting a late penalty for his 1st goal this season.

A very tough game for the Reds today against a very good Woolston T&L side. The boys came through it 4-3 to maintain their 100% record in the league this year. However they will need to be better in the coming weeks to maintain that. 2 goals for Owen , 1 for Dom and 1 for Max McD

The relief of winning a penalty shootout after a very tough game against Boorley green. We scraped through 7-6 on penalties. Lots to think about before our next game.

The lads travel a short distance for a tricky away game against Boorley Green in the cup. We have a few faces missing, so the chance for others to step up and stake a claim for a regular start. Hopefully not to many of the boys out in town tonight…

After a poor start conceding 2 soft goals from our own mistakes, the lads woke up and scored 7 unanswered goals of their own. Still room for improvement but played 2 , won 2 top of the league on GD 🔴🔵🔴🔵.

2nd game of the season for the lads after last week’s resounding 6-0 win. It’s going to be a tough one against a London Airways team that won 6-1 last week. The Reds will hopefully be bolstered by a few returning players, however a messy Saturday night can ruin all of your plans.
