James Frey lied less in A Million Little Pieces than Belle Burden did in Strangers. The finances are, no surprise, eye popping. But what shocking is the emotional core of the book—where her husband was going to take her to trial to get his half of the properties… didn’t happen. The only thing on the court docket was a STATUS CONFERENCE. Plus, she would have been allowed to keep one or both of the houses till her kids turned 18. But turns out… she could have bought him out of the houses anyway. She seems to be worth ~$65M (some yet coming, she’s a beneficiary of 5 trusts, and in one her share is ~$45M, but it’s not like a bank wasn’t gonna loan her money.) She is getting what looks like ~$750k annually PER KID in child support till the kids are 22, plus her husband surrendered their stake in both homes (the one in NYC is worth a cool 12M.) Her husband, it seems worth noting, made his own money. I’ve spent almost two decades think about marriage and money for a living. I also dated one of Belle’s cousins directly prior to my husband, and trusts and prenups had come up. In short, I’ve thought about prenups a lot. If I were marrying someone ultra wealthy I’d ask for exactly what Belle Burden’s husband asked for: the already super wealthy person to fund our life together in whatever way they were accustomed to, and the right to keep what I made separate and take it with me in the event of a divorce. So, with the facts in hand, his request for the prenup where he was able to keep separate funds, looks not just reasonable but wise. In the book Burden depicts her husband’s behavior as being terrible (though not abusive). But it turns out the parts of the book that can be fact checked are riddled with lies, so for me, Burden’s credibility is shot. I always felt that putting your ex-husband in a bestselling memoir where you make him the villain was an ethically dubious choice. (At least make it an auto fictional novel, FFS.) But to do that and LIE? That’s an unhinged, nearly sociopathic, level of revenge. newyorker.com/books/page-tur…

A @UChicago economist documents a "happiness crash" in America--a "sudden, sharp & historically unprecedented decline in self-reported happiness." This article is silent on the one variable he found most predictive of this happiness crash: marriage.

@LibertyJen @R3llvolv3rOc3lt Speaking of fucking retards….My favorite part here is she’s shitting on the generation that are her own’s kids. Perfect initial response — THEY taught Gen Z to be everything she’s complaining about: soft, entitled, etc.

Who told them to get that degree? It was your gen that took on mortgages that were deemed toxic which led to the housing bubble and the banks making home lending that much harder. If you had to buy a 1.6M home today, I guarantee you wouldn't be liquid enough for a down payment.

If you want to lower the price of housing for Americans, the conversation should start with lowering demand by deporting the illegals who shouldn't be here and severely restricting immigration.

US officials leaking to WaPo how badly Israel is weakening the Empire, shows growing resentment. Yet Israel remains confident that there’s no sacrifice Washington won’t make for Tel Aviv’s benefit, up to and including national suicide, and so far Israel’s been proven right
John Hudson@John_Hudson

As the war drags on, tensions have grown between US and Israeli officials, particularly as Netanyahu exerts pressure for the US to restart the war. “Israel is not capable of fighting and winning wars on its own, but nobody actually knows this, because they never see the back end,” said a US official

Just as we predicted, USCIS is prioritizing international students who studied in the United States for H-1Bs.
USCIS@USCIS

This year’s H-1B season is wrapping up, and we’re seeing great results from @POTUS’ new policies that prioritize America First! Stay tuned for more updates, but here’s what we’re seeing so far: ✅More top talent: We’re approving more applicants with advanced degrees and higher salaries—especially those who studied at U.S. universities. An overwhelming 71.5% of selected aliens hold a U.S. master’s degree or higher, compared to 57% last year. ✅Stronger workforce: These skilled workers are making a real impact on our economy and we’re closing the door on the low-wage and low-skilled foreign labor pipeline approved under Biden administration policies. This year, only 17.7% of all selected registrations were in the lowest wage category. ✅Restoring integrity: The number of properly submitted registrations plummeted by 38.5%, from 343,981 in fiscal year 2026 to just 211,600 in fiscal year 2027. This data is a clear sign that the days of abusing the program with mass, low-wage registrations are over, and that the program is better serving its intended purpose of attracting highly skilled foreign workers and protecting the wages, working conditions, and job opportunities of American workers. More details coming soon!

The fact that Dems have not leveraged @ossoff’s looks and spun him into an easy on the eyes candidate with btw fantastic ideas, shows just how bad Dems are at PR. He is giving hot Atticus Finch here. This could be an ad in Vogue for glasses and I’d buy the glasses. 🔥

Good read on H1-b visa abuses. For anyone skeptical that Big Tech works hard to keep wages down, recall that Apple/Google/Intel/others were hit with an Antitrust suit back in 2010 focused on agreements not to poach workers. They didn't want bidding wars for their employees, which drive up wages. The antitrust actions were settled for big $$ in 2014, and since then the use of H1-b visas has gone up quite a lot - perhaps partly in response to Big Tech having to give up on collusion as a wage-reducing mechanism that drives up their share prices.

Intel is no longer the company of its founders, Robert Noyce and Gordon Moore, but of Malaysian-born Lip-Bu Tan, its CEO since March 2025. Microsoft is led by Satya Nadella; Alphabet Inc. by Sundar Pichai; Adobe by Shantanu Narayen; IBM by Arvind Krishna; YouTube by Neal Mohan; and T-Mobile US by Srinivas Gopalan – all of whom were born in India.  Read my latest for Real Clear Politics on the H-1B visa program. realclearinvestigations.com/articles/2026/…
