@OpenSpecy I mostly have the problem that it doesn't recognize big particles as particles or takes the background as particles but not the particles themselves :(

@FeeTenbrink What does the problem look like? Do you have an example image? I've run into issues with the mosaic not being true before, basically creating false particles from misalignment. I ran the internal calibration routine to correct it.

Okay guys, forget what I said yesterday. Today things didn't work, things which worked perfectly fine yesterday. And then the software just kept crashing for an hour before making a mysterious, logic-defying comeback at 6pm #AcademicChatter #phdlife #microplastics #ftir

@OpenSpecy Yes, I am using Omnic Picta and the software has problems recognizing particles from mosaics.... And then if I try to adjust the detection limits manually sometimes the software just stops working...would be interested to know if others had the same issue

@FeeTenbrink Also, I have used Omnic Picta before and might be able to help you resolve software issues there if you run into them again.

@FeeTenbrink R code does that. Same code, same data file, all works fine. Leave it for a year, upload it and BOOM!!

... although the keywords here are "seems to work" , trust me there were many confused moments with spectra that did not make any sense, software crashes and a quick chemistry lesson ! #realphdlife
