I just know (as a PS5 owner) that some big games need to be downloaded, doesn't matter if they're on disc.

the PS5 disc for P3R here has all of the data on the disc
which you can play start to end without having a internet connection
keycards on the other hand needs a internet connection to download without it your boned

Modern Final Fantasy doesn't respect your time, I'm almost 30 hours into Rebirth and I feel like I did only 2 hours of the main story. Meanwhile the other 28 hours is: Filler cutscenes, generic Sony-world map sidequests,mini games etc.
