Shakira has officially won a major battle in her long-running Spain tax case. A Spanish High Court ruled that authorities failed to prove she was a tax resident in Spain in 2011, ordering the government to return more than €60 million ($70+ million) to the singer, including interest. The court found Shakira spent only 163 days in Spain that year, below the 183-day threshold required for tax residency. This ruling overturns fines and penalties tied to the 2011 case after an 8-year legal fight. However, this does not erase her separate 2023 settlement over taxes from 2012–2014, where she already paid millions in fines. (Via Reuters)
