Noticing the large emphasis on the backhand pick here. I personally love and have found a lot of success in this method when developing my first basemen. Create depth & angle with lead leg to get eyes behind the baseball. Forehand is last resort/if the angle of throw forces it.

Using visuals to enhance proper hip and shoulder angle for feeds on double plays. Discussion revolved around taking more efficient routes towards ⚾️ allowing for better throwing positions. Verbal Cues: • Land preset • Throw from where we catch • Do NOT let the ball stop moving

2B Double Play Footwork Progression 1: Single bag inside box (visual cue) 2: Three Bag 3: Live feeds incorporating throw to 1B Verbal Cues: -Compact movements towards ⚾️ with right foot -Catch everything in the middle of our shoulders (when able to) -Stay inside the box

Increasing Range: Putting obstacles in front of the infielder forces them to use their lower half more efficiently. Often we see young infielders drift and reach instead of relying on their legs. Obstacles help infielders move more aggressively pre catch to increase range.
