Our malware exchange (virus.exchange) is temporarily shutdown because it is a colossal pain in the ass to deal with while having limited resources. In summary the website acted as a way for people to download individual files from vx-underground, rather than having to download in bulk to get 1 file they were searching for. This was cool and badass in theory, but in implementation it was a nightmare come alive. When decomprossed our archive spanned nearly 30TB or more and grows each month. Hosting 30TBs of millions upon millions of small individual files gets expensive really fast. It also becomes extremely tedious trying to manage it with limited resources. It is something we're still capable of doing, but without insane amounts of money, or something, it's such a huge fucking pain in the ass I don't want to deal with it anymore. It is no surprise companies charge out the ass when dealing with malware stuff like this. Anyway, maybe in the future if we suddenly stumble across a magic genie that can light a fire under our ass and give me a fucking bajillion dollars, then maybe we'll bring it back. Right now the website is sitting on a proverbial shelf and collecting dust.
