Adult Aang's design is genuinely so bad. It's not an unpopular opinion by any means, but this design also striped Aang of all his joy and child like whimsy. It would've been so poetic if he grew up to look like Monk Gyatso, man.💔

It’s not solely from the animated series. ATLA and ALOK both have comic books, the lore expands more in those. But this fact was actually pointed out first in The last airbender, when Aang was about to unlock flight, he couldn’t let go for his love for katara and his friends so that didn’t happen. Afterwards, he got struck by lightning by azula- if I remember correctly

Zaheer wasn't the first Airbender to fly. Before Zaheer there was Guru Laghima. The first Air Nomad who unlocked the power of flight. Legend has it that his foot didn't touch the earth for a thousand years. Zaheer was happened to find a Pendant of Guru Laghima in the Air Temple. @Yassonim People want him to resemble his young design/ the other air nomads more. Not everyone needs to be a chiseled Adonis, korra aang looks like a completely different person.

Korra’s story was over multiple years. Aang story took 1 year. He was 12 when found in the iceberg, 12 when he beat Ozai. He was an exceptional Avatar. Korra on the other hand was 17 in book one, 21 in book 4. If she didn’t have full mastery despite starting off with 3 elements- she’d definitely be a failure I do agree that Kyoshi is stronger than yangchen tho. Kyoshi surpassed her limits

@fwmann1e Not sure how prime Aang looks rn but also not sure what adult Korra looks like either. All I know is Korra has full mastery by the end of her show over more elements than Aang did in his. Also idk if I’d put Kyoshi below Yang Chen

But if you think about it, at 12/13 years old, Aang would’ve been able to fly. That’s all the evidence you need to know that Aang was a master air bender

Aang was a master bender. Only air bending masters have tattoos, which he acquired at 12 years old. Also, just because someone doesn’t use something doesn’t mean they don’t know how to use it. Zaheer was a killer, Aang wasn’t. He learnt how to energy bend solely because he didn’t want to kill
