Today is Martin Luther King Day and this inspired a conversation about diversity. MLK fought for equality and freedom. We learned that although we all look different on the outside, on the inside we are the same as we all have feelings and are children of God. @StCeciliaHCDSB
Subtraction in action! In Math pairs, one partner would take away a number of bears and the other partner had to figure out how many bears were under the cup. @StCeciliaHCDSB
As we are celebrating quite a few birthdays this month, we decided to throw a birthday party in our dramatic centre! Students were also invited to create “yummy chocolate” cupcakes for the occasion as part of the celebrations through sensory play. 🥳🎂🥳🎂 @StCeciliaHCDSB
We are mathematicians! We created a class graph using our gloves and mittens to answer, “What did you wear on your hands today?” Later, students worked in pairs to add using a number line. @StCeciliaHCDSB
We are learning to compose and add numbers. Students have been exploring different adding strategies using loose parts and concrete materials. Today students worked in pairs and took turns rolling the dice to build number sentences that the SK mentors recorded.@StCeciliaHCDSB
We have been very busy this week! Students wrote about their Christmas break, made New Year’s resolutions, decorated Winter gear using different types of lines, and created snowman portraits. @StCeciliaHCDSB

After reading the Grinch this week our Kinders have been fascinated with him. Today using a simple experiment, we helped the Grinch grow his heart “3 sizes bigger”💚❤️💚❤️@StCeciliaHCDSB
