The last talk of day 2 at #IFSConf 2024 had Thomas McCarthy delve into potassium in grassland soils. His research indicates CEC is the most significant property regulating levels of K in soils, challenging the current blanket approach to recommendations in Ireland.

Lionel Jordan-Meille takes us through the MERCI decision support tool in the final talk before lunch. This model totals the amount of nitrogen provided by a range of cover crops, to the subsequent cash crop. #IFSConf 2024

Diogenes Antille has provided us with a fascinating talk on controlled traffic farming (CTF) on GHG emissions. CTF has been seen to reduce overall N2O and CH4 emissions by 30-50%! #IFSConf 2024

In the 2nd session, Kevin Rouwenhorst gives an overview of low emission ammonia production. He suggests the overall added cost to the end product will be limited and the co2 reduction will be significant #IFSConf 2024

The first session included a presentation by Mike Nash on the overview of the EU Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism. Mike discussed the potential consequences and oppotunities as it's phased in. #IFSConf 2024
