@AlTaylorNZ @WinningV1 @tepunamike There has been more than a 20 % drop in nitrogen use over the last three years. It’s now lower than 2014 Al. Coated urea use running at 60% so farmers are making good decisions and really upping use efficiency.

@ClimateCommNZ assumes share of urea #fertiliser coated with urease inhibitor increases to 100% by 2030. Farmers are already making progress with almost half of product used currently coated.

The @ClimateCommNZ has just released nāia tonu nei: the time is now. Their advice to government on #ClimateAction estimates a 20% reduction in #nitrogen use by 2030. How far will improved efficiency and new technologies take us?
