IF staining of patient lungs confirmed the AT1 cell state. Interesting implications for unexpected repair pathways in lung and perhaps for diagnosis and therapy. @AJRCMB

Peer harmonized public #COVID19 vs control BAL #scRNAseq datasets to detect rare cell states in the infected #lung. Among his many findings was evidence for aberrant alveolar epithelial type 1 cells with cornification and other signatures reminiscent of the skin!
