Xbox CEO Asha Sharma reportedly told employees that the company “currently cannot manufacture enough consoles to meet demand” due to rising hardware component costs. “We are currently unable to make as many consoles as players want to buy, and we need a new business model and partnerships for hardware as we remain committed to Helix,” Sharma reportedly said. According to an internal memo, increasing memory and storage costs are forcing Xbox to rethink its hardware strategy, though the company remains committed to Project Helix, its next-generation platform.
