52 goals conceded in 37 games... with only 5 sides conceding more... That's just so, so bad from Liverpool. Man United in Moyes' 2013/14 season conceded 43... Chelsea's 2015/16 side when they finished 10th? 53 in 38 games. Unbelievably poor.

It’s around 2 seconds because it’s in slow motion. It’s literally half a second if that in real time. Just because he does it when the balls in play doesn’t mean he’s impeding his movement when it’s actually time to catch the ball, Bayindir has MORE than enough time to set himself to claim that cross. He’s barely backing into him whatsoever and even then he’s being backed into himself by Mount

As the ball comes into the box... its in play and hes stopping and impeding his movement.... he then backs him into the goal... at no point can he... or will he win the ball. Gw1 they set the tone. It changed last weekend.

Saliba holds Bayindir’s arm for a literal split second, he’s let go long before Bayindir makes any attempt to catch the ball. He’s not impeding the keepers ability to claim the ball. Pablo is holding Raya’s arm from the moment the ball is kicked all the way until after Raya has attempted to catch the ball. It’s so obviously different that I genuinely feel like I’m going crazy seeing people keep bringing it up

Things like that have been allowed all season though, for every team on pretty much every corner. What hasn’t been allowed is physically holding a goalkeepers arm (and his shirt) while he’s trying to claim the ball) If you think they need to stamp down on all the grappling and wrestling on corners, as well as actually clear up what does and doesn’t constitute a foul, then that’s a whole other argument, and one that I probably agree with you on tbh.

@TomCantonMedia They sound entirely unsure. With only the AVAR showing interest in what has actually gone on prior to the Raya "foul". And he was ignored with barely a replay shown on what he was trying to point out. It was embarrassing. Start to finish.

I’ve been so critical of officiating this season. But this was an incredibly humanising clip of the process they went through. You can hear their almost frustration that this massive moment requires their intervention. They don’t want to have to intervene, but know they do.
