Does anyone else wonder, as I do, why so many celebrityy chefs insist on using 'handfuls' of salt when making a new dish. When we (an ordinary man or woman) are told regularly by heart consultants to strictly monitor our salt intake, as it is a major cause of heart problems!

Any help please. My Autumn raspberries are starting to ripen, but every one picked so far breaks up, so no whole raspberries. Is this a deficiency of something or just maybe the weather? Thank you. #allotments #gardening #fruit

Good old ‘Gardeners Delight’ - when one turns red the rest quickly follow! Some years i put banana skins amongst them - the ethylene released as the skins blacken speeds ripening. No need this summer. Delicious, sun-warmed and straight off the plants - how do you eat yours?

Advice please - my winter cabbage seedlings seed leaves are being munched by fleabeetle - is it worth planting on and covering or should I reseed and cover immediately. Thanks. #allotment #gardeningtips #fleabeetle
